چکیده

One- and two-photon stimulated emission transitions were investigated by the fluorescence quenching of a sulfonyl-containing fluorene compound, 2,7-bis(4-(phenylsulfonyl)styryl)-9,9-didecyl-9H-fluorene (1), in solution at room temperature using a picosecond pump-probe technique. The nature of stimulated transitions under various fluorescence excitation and quenching conditions was analyzed theoretically, and good agreement with experimental data was demonstrated. Two-photon stimulated transitions S1-->S0 were shown for 1 at lambdaq=1064 nm, representing the first report of two-photon stimulated emission depletion (STED) in a molecular system. The two-photon stimulated emission cross section, delta2PE(lambdaq), of fluorene 1 was estimated to be approximately 240-280 GM, suggesting that this compound may be a good candidate for use in two-photon STED microscopy.

Stimulated Emission Depletion Dynamics in Push-Push Polyenes

Two-photon fluorescence polarisation and stimulated emission depletion dynamics are investigated in three high two -photon cross-section push-push polyenes: OM62, LP79 and OM77 and compared to the behaviour of a standard fluorophore (rhodamine 6G). Two-photon fluorescence anisotropy measurements (R(0) and Ω) were undertaken using picosecond time-correlated single photon counting (TCSPC). For OM...

SYNTHESIS OF AMINO DERIVATIVE OF INDENE AND FLUORENE FROM IMIMIUM SALT GENERATED IN ETHEREAL LITHIUM PERCHLORATE SOLUTION

A series of amino derivative of 1-indene and 9-fluorene have been synthesized from their corresponding iminium salt, generated in situ in the concentrated ethereal lithium perchlorate solution, and 1-indenyl or 9-fluorenyl anions. The yields of the reactions depend on the kind of anion. Addition of 1-indeny anion to the iminium salt gives the amino derivative of 1-indene, while addition of fluo...

Synthesis and photophysical properties of hyperbranched polyfluorenes containing 2,4,6-tris(thiophen-2-yl)-1,3,5-triazine as the core.

A series of new hyperbranched polymers containing a 2,4,6-tris(thiophen-2-yl)-1,3,5-triazine core unit and polyfluorene chain arms have been synthesized via Suzuki coupling, and characterized by NMR, IR and GPC. All the polymers exhibit good thermal stability with a high decomposition temperature. By changing the 2,4,6-tris(thiophen-2-yl)-1,3,5-triazine/fluorene ratio the UV-vis absorption and ...

Phosphorescence from a pure organic fluorene derivative in solution at room temperature.

A fluorene derivative having both bromo and formyl groups exhibited bright phosphorescence emission in common organic solvents at room temperature. The absolute phosphorescence quantum yield reached 5.9% in chloroform at 298 K. When the fluorene derivative was incorporated into a poly(methyl methacrylate) film, the phosphorescence emission was similarly observed even under air at room temperatu...
